What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser to remember something between page loads: a session, a preference, an identifier. Related technologies such as local storage and tracking tags do similar work. This policy covers all of them.

What this site uses

This site uses three kinds of cookies and related technologies.

Essential. Our hosting platform sets the cookies needed to serve the site securely and reliably. The site also uses your browser's session storage to remember small choices, such as dismissing a notice. These cannot be switched off without affecting how the site works.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to measure which pages are visited, how people arrive and whether they get in touch, and Hotjar to see, in aggregate, how people scroll and click on key pages. Google Tag Manager loads these tools. They set cookies that identify your browser across visits to this site, so that we can count returning visitors and understand what is useful. Traffic from our own offices is excluded.

Advertising. We advertise on Google. The Google Ads tag on this site records when someone who clicked one of our ads goes on to contact us or book a call, so we can measure which ads work. With your browser's permission, Google may also use it to show our ads to people who have previously visited this site as they use other websites and Google services, which is known as remarketing. Where you submit your email address through a form on this site, Google may receive a hashed (one-way encrypted) version of it to attribute that enquiry to an ad click. We do not sell your information, and we do not share the contents of your enquiry with Google.

Third-party services

The services that set cookies or receive information when you use this site are: Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, Ads and Fonts), Hotjar, Cloudflare for security and performance, the content delivery networks that serve some of the site's images and scripts, HubSpot when you book a meeting through an embedded calendar, and the form-processing service that delivers contact form submissions to us. Your browser contacts these services directly, which discloses your IP address to them. Each handles information under its own privacy policy.

Your choices

You can turn off personalised advertising from Google, including remarketing, at adssettings.google.com, and across many ad networks at youradchoices.com.au. You can stop Google Analytics collecting data about your visits with Google's opt-out browser add-on, and opt out of Hotjar at hotjar.com.

Your browser also lets you view, block and delete cookies, per site or entirely; the help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge explain how. Blocking analytics and advertising cookies will not stop the site working.
