Who we are

This policy is issued by Coder Trove Pty Ltd (ABN 87 138 515 821) of Level 2, 37 Darlinghurst Road, Potts Point NSW 2011, Australia. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Where we handle the personal data of individuals in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we do so consistently with the GDPR and UK GDPR respectively.

The information we collect

When you contact us through this website, we collect the information you provide: your name, company, email address, the service area you select and your message. When you correspond with us by email or phone, we hold that correspondence. When you apply for a role with us, we collect the information in your application.

Because we sell to businesses, we also collect business contact information — names, roles, work email addresses and company details — from publicly available sources and reputable business data providers, where the person's role is relevant to the services we offer.

Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure records technical information when you visit, including IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. Our Cookie Policy describes what this site sets in your browser.

How we use it

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, to provide and administer our consulting services, to assess job applications, to maintain the security of our systems, and to meet legal and accounting obligations.

We use business contact information to tell people about services relevant to their role, including by email and other business-to-business outreach. We do this consistently with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and, for EEA and UK contacts, on the basis of our legitimate interest in business-to-business marketing. Every commercial message we send identifies us and carries a working unsubscribe, and we honour opt-outs promptly and permanently. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers who help us operate: our website hosting and content delivery platform, the form-processing service that delivers contact form submissions to our inbox, our email and outreach platforms, business data providers, and professional advisers where required. Each is engaged on terms that limit what they may do with the information.

Coder Trove operates a delivery centre in Vietnam. Where personal information held in connection with a client engagement needs to be accessed by our delivery personnel there, that access occurs under the same confidentiality obligations that bind our Australian staff, and we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Security and retention

We protect personal information with technical and organisational measures appropriate to a firm whose practice includes cyber security: access controls, encryption in transit, and restriction of access to those who need it. No transmission or storage method is completely secure, and we do not represent otherwise. We retain personal information only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or as the law requires, and then delete or de-identify it.

Your rights

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. You may opt out of our communications at any time, using the unsubscribe in any message or by contacting us directly. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have rights to erasure, restriction, portability and objection under the GDPR or UK GDPR, and the right to withdraw any consent you have given. We respond to requests within a reasonable period, and within any period the applicable law sets.

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
